WHOLESALE PACKING & REPEAT ORDERS

Wholesale Bead Packaging: 100-Piece vs 500 g Bags

Two listings can both say one bag and still represent different order quantities. Separate piece count, packing weight and color assortment before comparing quotations or planning a branded range.

Quick answer: A 100-piece bag specifies a count. A 500 g bag specifies a weight-based pack, not a guaranteed number of beads. Compare quotations using the stated unit for the exact SKU, and confirm net content, assortment and packing tolerances before converting the order into kits or retail packs.

Read the unit before comparing the bag price

These packing entries are SKU-specific. Do not apply a 100-piece default to every product. For any weight-based line, confirm whether the stated weight refers to net product content and agree the applicable packing tolerance. A carton or shipping gross weight is not an individual bead weight.

Translate a pack into your own kit carefully

Hypothetical planning example: if a kit uses 10 identical components and a confirmed pack contains 100 pieces, one pack supplies 10 kits before any agreed allowance for sampling, rejects or spare pieces. An order for 100 such kits would require 1,000 components, or 10 confirmed 100-piece packs before that allowance. This arithmetic is not a QULA sales record or a packing guarantee for an unconfirmed item.

You cannot apply the same calculation directly to YH073 or YH074 because their 500 g catalog packs do not specify a piece count. Ask for the information needed for your packing process, or request a separately quoted count-packed format if feasible. Do not estimate the count from a different star shape or from the gross shipping weight.

For repeat orders, record the exact SKU and packing unit on the purchase order, invoice check and receiving record. Keep any agreed conversion or packing tolerance alongside the approval, rather than assuming it remains unchanged for a new design.

Define mixed colors and designs as an order requirement

A photograph showing several colors does not guarantee one of each color, equal proportions or all pictured variations. Likewise, a packing illustration with one selected color is not a fixed assortment promise.

  • Single-color order: identify the exact color or two-tone pairing and quantity for that variation.
  • Defined assortment: list required colors or designs, target quantities or ratios, and how substitutions will be approved.
  • Available mixed assortment: clarify whether counts per color are unspecified and whether that is acceptable for your retail or kit plan.

If matching pairs or a fixed number of each design are essential, make that explicit before requesting the quote. Confirm whether sorting is feasible and whether it changes the price, MOQ or lead time. Do not infer those services from the word mixed.

What a private-label packing brief should contain

Start with the approved component and packing unit, then describe the proposed retail presentation. Bags, labels, cards or boxes are project requirements to review, not automatically included options.

  1. The component SKU, selected color or assortment, and pieces or weight per retail unit.
  2. Proposed pack format and dimensions, with a physical fit check for irregular shapes.
  3. Brand artwork, finished print size, label placement and the approved language version.
  4. Any buyer-supplied barcode, internal SKU, batch-reference field or other required label content.
  5. Outer-carton grouping and the information your warehouse needs for receiving and sorting.
  6. Sample approval, packing tolerance and the procedure for any substitutions or artwork revisions.

Use the real approved product photograph where appearance matters; do not redesign the bead in a packaging mockup. Confirm that the sample pack contains the correct product and that the label describes its actual material and unit.

Compare the complete quotation, not only the component

Ask for separate confirmation of the loose-component quantity, any sorting or repacking work, printing or labels, sample charges and freight. State the destination country and postal code. For a brand with several markets, identify each required label-language version instead of assuming one English pack will cover every destination.

A listed stock MOQ does not establish the MOQ for branded packing. For example, YH061 lists 100 pcs/bag but its minimum order must be confirmed by quotation. Use the OEM/ODM sourcing checklist when your pack also involves a custom product or design change.

Buyer Questions

How many beads are in a 500 g bag?

That depends on the specific product. QULA does not publish a piece count for the 500 g YH073 and YH074 packs, so no count is guaranteed here. Confirm the necessary quantity with the quotation.

Does a mixed-color photo mean an equal mix in every bag?

No. The selected colors, ratios, sorting and substitution rules must be agreed for the order. Photos are not an assortment specification.

Can I request my own branded packing?

Yes, submit a packing brief for feasibility review. Artwork, format, sample approval, packing MOQ, charges and timing are confirmed separately.

Packing examples are taken from the linked QULA product pages, checked on October 15, 2026. The kit calculation is a clearly labeled planning example; it is not based on a measured weight-to-count conversion.
